General recommendations for use

Candle Care and Burn Performance

Proper care may positively influence candle performance and the perception of the scented atmosphere.

1. The First Burn

Upon initial use, it is recommended to allow the candle to burn long enough to form an even melt pool across the surface (approximately 1–2 hours, depending on the candle’s size and shape).

2. The Environment

For even burning and flame stability, it is advisable not to place the candle in drafts or near airflow, particularly during the first burn.

3. The Wick

Regular trimming of the wooden wick before lighting may contribute to a more stable and cleaner burn.

General observations

What Does Proper Burning Look Like?

Under normal conditions of use, a candle develops an even melt pool across its surface, allowing the fragrance to be

released gradually and supporting consistent wax consumption over time.

The time required to form a full melt pool varies depending on the composition and hardness of the wax, the type of wick used,

as well as the candle’s size and shape, and typically falls within approximately 1–2 hours.

1. An Interrupted First Burn

In cases where the first burn is interrupted prematurely, subsequent use may result in the wax melting primarily in the center. In such situations, restoring an even surface may be necessary before continuing normal use.

2. The Natural Char of a Wooden Wick

Wooden wicks naturally form a layer of char during burning. Maintaining the wick through regular trimming supports more even and controlled burning and produces the characteristic soft sound associated with this type of wick.

3. Extended Burn Time

Under proper usage conditions, the glass should remain clean with minimal soot buildup. During extended burn times (over 4 hours), higher temperatures may accelerate wax and fragrance consumption, which in some cases can lead to soot formation. If necessary, the glass may be cleaned before the next use with a suitable alcohol-free cleaning product.

General guidance for different spaces

Fragrance Selection

1. Intimate Spaces

Smaller spaces often respond best to lighter, cleaner fragrance profiles that remain close to the senses.

2. Open Rooms

Larger rooms allow for deeper and more layered compositions and may require larger candle formats to achieve balanced scent presence.

3. Shared Environments

In professional or shared spaces, balanced fragrances with moderate presence are recommended—scents that settle into the environment without dominating it.
